There’s a lot of rumors going around this time of year in the NBA. Certain players are on the trade block, others are looking to rebuild, and seemingly everybody is going to Los Angeles. We’re taking a look at the hottest rumors of the week and detecting just how BS they are. Welcome to BS Detector…
KYRIE IS GOING TO THE NETS
This is one of the least controversial rumors around and it’s a foregone conclusion at this point. No BS needed for this one. Kyrie is leaving and it’s best for everyone. Now the only remaining intrigue with regards to Kyrie is when his documentary will premiere.

THE LAKERS THINK THEY HAVE A SHOT AT KAWHI
According to a recent report, the Lakers are operating as if they have a strong shot at signing Kawhi this offseason. There is precedent to Kawhi-LA rumors, but this is not happening. Laker fans can console someone themselves knowing they have a shot at signing Kemba, D-Lo, among others, but Kawhi is not going to the Lakers. Speaking of D’Angelo Russell…

D-LO IS INTERESTED IN LA
Despite the way their relationship ended, D’Angelo Russell is reportedly not against a return to LA should the Nets sign Kyrie Irving. This makes some sense. Magic Johnson was the one who had a problem with D-Lo, not the Lakers organization itself. Still, it’s like getting back with an ex, albeit an ex with LeBron and Anthon Davis as newly added pieces. It may seem like a good idea and that Ex may have gone through a glow up, but you broke up for a reason. We think D-Lo will realize that and ends up in Phoenix.
KD AND KYRIE MET THROUGHOUT THE SEASON TO DISCUSS FREE AGENCY
In a move that should surprise absolutely nobody, it is rumored that Kyrie and KD met twice during the season to discuss their upcoming Free Agency. This tells us two things. One: The possibility of them both teaming up is very very real and 2: Kyrie was never going to stay. It’ll be fascinating to see how two players known for mood swings and tempers will co-exist, but there’s nothing to suggest the meetings didn’t happen or to suggest that they’re going anywhere but Brooklyn. Only thing I’m left wondering is if it was more than twice…

CLIPPERS ARE THE FAVORITE TO SIGN KAWHI
The L.A Clippers are reportedly still the favorites to win the Kawhi sweepstakes according to reports. This isn’t entirely surprising, as Kawhi has made his desire to play in L.A abundantly clear and the Clippers afford him the opportunity to play in his desired market while remaining the alpha of his team. Kawhi isn’t a follower and rolls to the beat of his own drum, but I still expect him to stay with the Raptors and build his legacy there. It isn’t surprising that the Clippers are still among the favorites, though.
