Quick Hit Week 5 DFS Thoughts

Stacks To Own

Kirk Cousins + Adam Thielen

There’s a couple of reasons for wanting this controversial pairing in your line-up. One, Cousins is going to want to make Thielen happy after repeatedly missing him last week against the Bears. Two: The Giants defense is not good. 3- Thielen is due for a breakout game. I’m expecting 7+ catches for Thielen with 100+ yards and a TD.

Andy Dalton + Tyler Boyd

Andy Dalton is a scary name to put into your lineup, especially when his offensive line is in shambles and he’s missing Green/Ross. Still, the Cardinals have an awful defense that should allow the Bengals to put points on the board at home.

Great Values

David Montgomery

Montgomery came into the season with a lot of hype, but he has failed to make much of an impact a quarter of the way into the season. That should change Week 5 in London vs the Oakland Raiders. The Bears should lead for most of the game, allowing the Bears to control time of possession by running the ball. While the Raiders aren’t necessarily a bad defense, they’re not a defense to be feared and Montgomery is only $5200. It’ll give you a player with a solid floor who will allow you to spend big elsewhere. Montgomery is a must have for me Week 5.

Robby Anderson

Pop Quiz: Which defense is last against the pass in the NFL? Answer: The Eagles. The Jets and Robby Anderson just so happen to be facing the Eagles this week. Those circumstances are already favorable enough, but Robby Anderson is only $4500 on DraftKings. Picking Robby Anderson for your flex will allow you to invest money in other positions and it gives you a chance for a breakout game from a receiver known to go big or go home. Anderson is a risky play, but one with the potential for a huge payoff.

Sony Michel

Now I know what you’re thinking: there is NO way I am putting my hopes and dreams on a New England RB. And to that I say: that is exactly why you should. Michel has been the most underwhelming RB of the season. But he has not necessarily been bad. If you look at the tape, he’s been getting hit behind the line of scrimmage often this season. The Redskins are 29th in the league against the run in a game that should be a blowout, so that shouldn’t be an issue this week. Red Burkhead has been ruled out as well, so this has all the makings of a Michel week. He’s one of my favorite plays at RB this week.

Defense of the Week

Raiders vs Bears. What once looked like it could be a game of the week candidate now looks like it should be a feasting ground for Khalil Mack and the Bears’ defense. I’m spending the cash and going all in on Chicago’s defense this week.
