Fantasy Football 2020: Monday Night Football Preview

Pittsburgh Steelers vs New York Giants

What To Look For From The Steelers

The biggest storyline heading into the season-opener for the black and gold is the return of Ben Roethlisberger. Without Big Ben under-center, the Steelers offense struggled mightily to the tune of 18.1 PPG. In a team full of star players, this was an extremely disappointing result for both the Steelers and fantasy players as neither James Conner nor JuJu Smith-Schuster lived up to their ADP. With the two-time Super Bowl winner back, look for Smith-Schuster and Conner to thrive and produce big-time results.

What To Look For From The Giants

The Giants have the potential to be an explosive fantasy team. Saquon Barkley, of course, will get all the headlines, but there’s much more to this team than just the generational running back. Can Evan Engram regain his status as one of the most promising tongue tight ends in the league? After an injury-riddled 2019, he has an opportunity to cement himself as one of Daniel Jones’ favorite targets. Speaking of Daniel Jones, will Danny Dimes make the leap to QB1 status? His first 4 games of the season are daunting, but Jones has a strong supporting cast and could make the leap to fantasy stardom.

Fantasy Player of the Game: Juju Smith-Schuster

JuJu Smith-Schuster saw his ADP drop down to the late third round in August, and I expect he will outperform his ADP. That journey begins tonight against the Giants. My bold prediction? JuJu Smith-Schuster finishes as a Top 5 wide receiver in Week 1

Tennessee Titans vs Denver Broncos

What To Look For From The Titans

Derrick Henry is obviously going to produce. Running behind arguably the best offensive line in the league and having signed a new contract, Henry will pick up right where he left off. More interesting are the futures of A.J Brown and Jonnu Smith. The Titans are relying on the two young playmakers to make the leap and become consistent options in the passing game. While Brown came on strong at the end of the 2019 regular season, he struggled in the playoffs and this game should tell us whether or not he’s more of a WR2 this season rather than a WR1.

What To Look For From The Broncos

Jerry Jeudy season is here and it should be glorious. The much-hyped rookie wide receiver will step right into a starting role with Courtland Sutton likely to miss this week’s game. Jeudy’s game has been paused for being polished and NFL ready, so it should be a good test for the talented wideout. In addition, will Noah Fant make the leap and become a Top-10 option at tight end? How will the backfield sort itself out? There’s plenty of intrigue for the Broncos and their fantasy managers in this one.

Fantasy Player of the Game: Derrick Henry

I’m predicting 80 yards and 2 touchdowns for King Henry tonight, and he absolutely could put up more. For those who have him in fantasy: I envy you.
