Fantasy Football 2020: Week 3 Preview, Daily Fantasy Props, and More
By Alex Kurpeski
Following a rather lackluster Thursday Night Football performance by the Jaguars, it’s time to look ahead to this weekend’s slate of games. Following the injury Armageddon that was Week 2, expect to see some unexpected names standout on Sunday.

Houston Texans vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The struggling Texans offense faces perhaps its toughest task yet in a matchup with the Steelers on the road.
What To Expect From Houston
The Steelers are going to smother the run game and blitz the crap out of Deshaun Watson. I would advise sitting any Texans you may have in your lineups.
What To Expect From Pittsburgh
Diontae Johnson has been a target hog through two weeks, so expect more of the same in this matchup. This feels like a solid matchup for all of the Steelers playmakers.
Fantasy Player of the Game: James Conner
Clyde Edwards-Helaire torched this defense in Week One and Gus Edwards ran for 73 yards against them in Week Two. Expect a great game from Conner, who bounced back last week against the Broncos.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Two teams with struggling offensive lines look to win their first game of the year.
What To Expect From Cincinnati
The Bengals will likely need to rely heavily on Joe Burrow to stay alive in this game. Joe Mixon draws a slightly more appealing matchup this week too.
What To Expect From Philadelphia
With Jalen Reagor out, expect the Eagles to return to their roots by running the ball early and often on this porous run defense.
Fantasy Player of the Game: Miles Sanders
Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt gashed this defense a week ago and Sanders should do the same this time around.
San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants
Two very banged up teams lock horns on a field where players’ ACLs go to die.
What To Expect From San Francisco
Jerick McKinnon will be the focal point of this offense, with Jeff Wilson rotating in as well. Expect a conservative approach from Kyle Shanahan and Co.
What To Expect From New York
Even with all of the injuries to the Niners defense it’s hard to trust anyone on the Giants offense. I would start Danny Dimes, Evan Engram, and Darius Slayton but don’t expect too much.
Fantasy Player of the Game: Jerick McKinnon
I love McKinnon this week with Tevin Coleman and Raheem Mostert banged up. He’s a near lock to hit double digit fantasy points.
Las Vegas Raiders vs. New England Patriots
The Raiders upset the Saints on MNF while the Pats came within a yard of beating the Seahawks just 24 hours earlier. This should be a competitive battle.
What To Expect From Las Vegas
The Raiders will look to feed Josh Jacobs the ball.
What To Expect From New England
The Cam Newton Show.
Fantasy Player of the Game: Cam Newton
Newton has been on fire through the first two games of the year. Super Cam is back and he may be better than ever.
Tennessee Titans vs. Minnesota Vikings
(Yawns).
What To Expect From Tennessee
Derrick Henry and efficiency from RT17.
What To Expect From Minnesota
Kirk Cousins turning the ball over while Dalvin Cook plays his heart out.
Fantasy Player of the Game: Derrick Henry
Yes, Derrick Henry again.
Washington Football Team vs. Cleveland Browns
The Browns defense feasted on Cincinnati’s offensive line last week and I expect them to do the same against Washington’s.
What To Expect From Washington
A good amount of Terry McLaurin and Antonio Gibson mixed with a concerning amount of Peyton Barber and Dontrelle Inman.
What To Expect From Cleveland
Washington has a stingy defense so this could be a pretty tough game for the Browns offense.
Fantasy Player of the Game: Terry McLaurin
McLaurin should get some good looks in this one, especially if the Browns blitz with extra defenders.
Los Angeles Rams vs. Buffalo Bills
A hard hitting clash between two undefeated teams with Super Bowl aspirations.
What To Expect From Los Angeles
A nice run/pass balance and overall solid stats for their starters.
What To Expect From Buffalo
A whole lot of Josh Allen.
Fantasy Player of the Game: Robert Woods
I’m taking Bobby Woods in PPR every week.
Chicago Bears vs. Atlanta Falcons
What To Expect From Chicago
Mitch Trubisky has a juicy matchup here, which means he’s destined to disappoint.
What To Expect From Atlanta
99% offense, 1% defense.
Fantasy Player of the Game: Calvin Ridley
The NFL’s leader in Air Yards, Ridley is set up to succeed in this matchup.
4 P.M ET Games
Carolina Panthers vs. Los Angeles Chargers
No CMC makes this a very unexciting game.
What To Expect From Carolina
A lot of passing.
What To Expect From Los Angeles
A lot of running.
Fantasy Player of the Game: Austin Ekeler
Ekeler has been great so far this season and he draws a juicy matchup with Carolina this week.
New York Jets vs. Indianapolis Colts
No Jamison Crowder makes this game a hard no from me.
What To Expect From New York
Who’s even left to be excited about? Braxton Berrios? I guess it’s Braxton Berrios time.
What To Expect From Indianapolis
Jonathan Taylor time.
Fantasy Player of the Game: Braxton Berrios
Why not?
Dallas Cowboys vs. Seattle Seahawks (3CoSports Game of the Week)
Dak vs. Russ in a game filled with superstars.
What To Expect From Dallas
The Cowboys should look to move the ball through the air, as both the Patriots and Falcons did so effectively against this defense.
What To Expect From Seattle
The Cowboys defense has been rather porous this season, so expect big things from Russell Wilson and Co.
Fantasy Player of the Game: Russell Wilson
How can it not be?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Denver Broncos
The Bucs have no excuse if they lose this game.
What To Expect From Tampa Bay
Production that leaves us wanting more.
What To Expect From Denver
Jerry Jeudy getting 10+ targets.
Fantasy Player of the Game: Chris Godwin
Liking this matchup for Godwin in his return from concussion protocol.
Detroit Lions vs. Arizona Cardinals
This is a game that could sneakily be really entertaining.
What To Expect From Detroit
A blown lead.
What To Expect From Arizona
Kyler Murray being a God.
Fantasy Player of the Game: Kyler Murray
Expect fireworks.
Sunday Night Football
Green Bay Packers vs. New Orleans Saints
It’s possible that neither Michael Thomas or Davante Adams will play in this game.
What To Expect From Green Bay
Aaron Jones.
What To Expect From New Orleans
Alvin Kamara.
Fantasy Player of the Game: Alvin Kamara
The Saints will lean on Kamara heavily in this game.
