Fantasy Football 2020: Week 7 Preview, Start Em’ Sit Em’ + DFS Props

By Alex Kurpeski

With several blockbusters lined up for this weekend’s slate of games, I’d rather jump directly into the previews than spend much more time writing this introduction. I hope you’ll forgive my laziness in this aspect, I can assure you that it’s warranted.

Steelers vs. Titans

Pittsburgh’s defense faces its toughest task yet — containing Derrick Henry. With star linebacker Devin Bush out for the season, doing so will become an even taller task. The team that controls the pace of this game should emerge victorious. I’m not super jazzed about either offense’s potential in this contest. I see this game being very defensive and low scoring.

✔Starts – Chase Claypool, James Conner

✘ Sits – JuJu Smith-Schuster, Jonnu Smith, Ryan Tannehill

Fantasy Player of the Game: Derrick Henry

I see the Titans riding Henry to victory in this one, as they’ll only run into trouble by allowing Pittsburgh’s pass-rush to become a factor in this contest. It’s Henry or bust for the Titans.

Cowboys vs. Football Team

Another ugly game, courtesy of the NFC East. Dallas looked lost last week against a meh Cardinals defense. Washington is a much more talented unit, which could spell doom for the Andy Dalton-led offense of the Cowboys. If there’s a week to start Washington players, it would be this one. The Cowboys’ defense is on a historic pace for all the wrong reasons. While I don’t expect a high scoring game, I do expect there to be a lot of yards on both sides.

✔Starts – Logan Thomas, Antonio Gibson, Michael Gallup, Dalton Schultz

✘ Sits – N/A

Fantasy Player of the Game: Antonio Gibson

Gibson could have a huge impact on this game. He’s an RB2 in my rankings this week, however, I could see him rising to RB1 status when all is said and done.

Bills vs. Jets

I’ll keep this section both short and sweet. The Bills will cover the spread. Josh Allen will ball out. The Jets will stay playing like they’ve never seen a football game before. Standard as always.

✔Starts – Jamison Crowder, Devin Singletary, Zack Moss, John Brown, Cole Beasley

✘ Sits – Frank Gore, Chris Herndon

Fantasy Player of the Game: Jamison Crowder

Crowder has seen 10+ targets in every game he’s played this season. This contest should go to garbage time by the second quarter, placing the explosive slot receiver in a great game script.

Panthers vs. Saints

Teddy Bridgewater takes on the team that helped him rebuild his career. Drew Brees gets Michael Thomas back for the first time since Week 1. And Alvin Kamara faces one of the worst run defenses in the NFL. Sit back and enjoy this one!

✔Starts – Robby Anderson, Mike Davis, Jared Cook, Emmanuel Sanders, Latavius Murray, Drew Brees

✘ Sits – Teddy Bridgewater, Tre’Quan Smith, Curtis Samuel

Fantasy Player of the Game: Michael Thomas

Something tells me that Thomas will be looking to remind folks why he’s the best wideout in the league. I’m expecting a monster performance from MT in this one.

Packers vs. Texans

Watson vs. Rodgers. Jones vs. Johnson. Adams vs. Cooks. One of these duals is much more exciting than the other two. The Packers defense was exploited last week and Watson could make them look like fools once more. That being said, the Texans defense has proven to be exploitable as well. Rodgers and Co. could very well take advantage. Ultimately, this game will come down to defensive stops.

✔Starts – Will Fuller, David Johnson, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Robert Tonyan

✘ Sits – Brandin Cooks

Fantasy Player of the Game: Davante Adams

The Packers need to get the dominant version of Adams back and rolling. This game will be a great opportunity to do so.

Browns vs. Bengals

Mayfield vs. Burrow 2.0. This is a good week to have stock on the Browns offense. However, it’s not a great week to have Joe Mixon. If the Browns defense can step up and overwhelm the Bengals weak offensive line once again, this could be a very one sided contest.

✔Starts – Tee Higgins, Jarvis Landry, Austin Hooper, Drew Sample

✘ Sits – A.J Green

Fantasy Player of the Game: Kareem Hunt

I’ve got Hunt as a top-five start this week. We saw what he did to this defense working in tandem with Nick Chubb. On his own this could be a massacre.

Lions vs. Falcons (3Co Game of the Week)

We love a good shootout!

✔Starts – Matt Stafford, D’Andre Swift, Marvin Jones, T.J Hockenson, Russell Gage, Hayden Hurst

✘ Sits – Kerryon Johnson

Fantasy Player of the Game: Calvin Ridley

Ridley has been terrific this season and I expect his dominance to continue this week. As great as Jeff Okudah is, this week will be a learning lesson for the young cornerback.

Buccaneers vs. Raiders

Josh Jacobs runs into a tough run defense, while Brady and the Bucs face a bottom tier unit in almost every category. The Raiders will need Derek Carr to perform well if they hope to emerge victorious. The Bucs simply need to play smart football.

✔Starts – Rob Gronkowski, Tom Brady, Ronald Jones, Hunter Renfrow, Henry Ruggs, Derek Carr

✘ Sits – Leonard Fournette, Scott Miller

Fantasy Player of the Game: Ronald Jones

Jones should continue his tear in this matchup.

Chargers vs. Jaguars

Woof. The Chargers have no excuse to lose this one.

✔Starts – Mike Williams, Justin Jackson, Joshua Kelley, Justin Herbert

✘ Sits – James Robinson, Gardner Minshew

Fantasy Player of the Game: Justin Jackson

If Jackson plays anything like he did against the Saints two weeks ago then Jacksonville’s defense is in big trouble.

49ers vs. Patriots

There’s some IDP to be had here. Otherwise, start Cam Newton and George Kittle — forget about the rest.

✔Starts – Jerick McKinnon, Deebo Samuel, James White

✘ Sits – Brandon Aiyuk, Julian Edelman, Damien Harris, N’Keal Harry, Jimmy Garopollo

Fantasy Player of the Game: George Kittle

It’s hard not to like Kittle, although the Patriots defense will do everything it can to eliminate him from this game.

Chiefs vs. Broncos

RIP Broncos. On the brightside, the game script should allow for a lot of passing.

✔Starts – Drew Lock, Jerry Jeudy, Melvin Gordon, Noah Fant, Mecole Hardman, Le’Veon Bell

✘ Sits – Philip Lindsey, Sammy Watkins, Tim Patrick

Fantasy Player of the Game: Travis Kelce

Kelce should be the top target for the Chiefs in this matchup.

Seahawks vs. Cardinals

Wilson vs. Murray. Hell. Yes.

✔Starts – Christian Kirk, Chase Edmonds, Greg Olsen

✘ Sits – Kenyan Drake

Fantasy Player of the Game: D.K Metcalf

The Cardinals should have no answer for Metcalf.
